Stake vlSDT

This guide walks you through staking SDT to receive vlSDT voting power. For background on vlSDT, see the vlSDT overview.

Prerequisites

• SDT tokens in your wallet
• Wallet connected to the Stake DAO app

Overview

Navigate to the vlSDT page on the Stake DAO app. The page displays:

• Total SDT staked: Protocol-wide staked amount in vlSDT
• Total vlSDT supply: Current circulating vlSDT voting power
• Your vlSDT balance: Your current voting power
• Your pending unstakes: SDT in the withdrawal queue
• Claimable rewards: Fee rewards available to claim

Staking SDT

vlSDT provides 1:1 voting power with no lock duration or decay.

To stake:

1. Select the Stake tab
2. Enter the amount of SDT to stake
3. Approve the contract (first time only)
4. Confirm the stake transaction

Your voting power is credited immediately. You can stake additional SDT at any time.

Requesting Unstake

To exit your vlSDT position, you must request an unstake and wait 8 weeks.

1. Select the Unstake tab
2. Enter the amount of SDT to unstake
3. Confirm the transaction

After confirming:

• Your vlSDT voting power is reduced immediately
• Your SDT enters an 8-week withdrawal queue
• You receive a request ID for tracking

Completing Withdrawal

After the 8-week waiting period:

1. Navigate to the Pending Unstakes section
2. Find your completed unstake request
3. Click Withdraw to receive your SDT
4. Confirm the transaction

Your SDT is transferred to your wallet upon confirmation.

Cancelling Unstake

Changed your mind? Cancel a pending unstake to restore your voting power.

1. Navigate to the Pending Unstakes section
2. Find the unstake request you want to cancel
3. Click Cancel
4. Confirm the transaction

After cancelling:

• Your vlSDT voting power is restored immediately
• The unstake request is deleted
• You resume earning fee rewards

Claiming Fee Rewards

vlSDT holders earn protocol fees distributed weekly (epoch-based).

To claim:

1. Navigate to the Rewards section
2. View your claimable amount
3. Click Claim
4. Confirm the transaction

Notes on Claiming

• Rewards accumulate across epochs until claimed
• You can claim at any time (no deadline)
• Claims process multiple epochs at once
• Anyone can trigger a claim on your behalf (rewards go to you)
