Buy Strategy Cover

This guide walks you through adding OpenCover insurance during a strategy deposit. For a full explanation of what the cover is and what it protects, see Strategy Insurance.

Prerequisites

  • Wallet connected to the Stake DAO app
  • A strategy that supports OpenCover (the toggle appears in the deposit flow)
  • Funds to pay the cover premium (shown in the deposit modal)

Add Cover During Deposit

Choose a strategy

Go to Yield and select a strategy you want to deposit into.

Open the deposit modal

Click Deposit, enter your LP token amount, and review the deposit summary.

Enable OpenCover

Toggle Buy Cover in the deposit modal. The cover details panel expands.

Review coverage details

Check the duration, amount covered, what you will pay, and coverage end date. Use the “covered risks and exclusions” link in the modal if you want to review the terms.

Confirm

Submit the transaction. Your deposit and cover are purchased in the same flow.

Managing Your Cover

You can view and manage existing cover from the Stake DAO cover dashboard:

  • Track active cover positions
  • See expiration dates
  • Extend or renew coverage

Tips

  • Cover is per strategy. You need a separate cover for each strategy position.
  • Cover starts after purchase. Events before the start time are not covered.
  • Claims are handled by Nexus Mutual and require membership and KYC. See Strategy Insurance for details.
